Loren Salazar has been a member of the NASA Fine Arts Program since being appointd by Bob Schulmer, NASA Director in 1992.
Salazar's
first NASA assignment was to paint images from "STS-61" , the mission
to repair the Hubble Space Telescope. He accompanied NASA Chief
Artist, and close personal friend and mentor Andreas Nottebhom to the launch . Both artists were awarded an exhibition of related
original paintings at the Museum Of Flight in
Seattle, Washington the following year.
